A new anaerobic digester and biofuel facility at Toyota Manufacturing UK's Deeside Engine Plant in North Wales required a robust way to substantiate and report on the sustainability credentials of its energy output. Developed by Aberdeen Investments and TCE Developments Ltd (DeesideSPV), the project needed a reporting platform that could produce verifiable, tamper-proof records of environmental impact from day one of operations.
Manual record-keeping and traditional reporting tools could not meet the level of auditability that regulators, investors, and Toyota's own sustainability standards demanded. The project partners needed a solution that would stand up to independent scrutiny — without the overhead of maintaining complex infrastructure.
DynamicLedger deployed its enterprise-grade Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) platform to provide immutable ESG and sustainability reporting for the Deeside facility. Every data point — from feedstock intake and anaerobic digestion outputs to energy generation and carbon offset metrics — is recorded as a tamper-proof entry on DynamicLedger's private distributed ledger, hosted on Microsoft Azure.
Each record is cryptographically timestamped, creating an unbroken audit chain that directly links sustainability claims to their verified source data. The platform was delivered as a managed SaaS subscription, requiring no dedicated infrastructure from the client and integrating cleanly with existing operational systems.
The Deeside Biofuel Plant is able to generate on-demand ESG reports with full data provenance, ready for regulatory review and investor scrutiny. Because every data entry is immutably recorded on the DynamicLedger platform, there is no risk of retrospective data manipulation, and no need for labour-intensive evidence reconstruction at audit time.
The Toyota Deeside deployment represents DynamicLedger's first enterprise go-live and demonstrates the platform's ability to bring enterprise-grade auditability to complex, multi-party sustainability projects.
